Privacy Policy

Wanderlust Vegans is our vegan travel blog and in the interests of privacy, we are writing this privacy policy/disclosure to let you know what you are getting yourself into by visiting our site. We don't collect personal data from you personally but below we will outline the web services we use that you should be aware of in terms of ads, cookies, social media and affiliate links.

First of all Wanderlust Vegans is a blog powered by Google's Blogger platform. It uses cookies and we have Google Adsense enabled on Wanderlust Vegans to show ads so that we can make money. Google may use cookies to show you relevant ads.

Google Adsense said to include this in our Privacy Policy:

"Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to your website or other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings. (Alternatively, you can direct users to opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.)
If you have not opted out of third-party ad serving, the cookies of other third-party vendors or ad networks may also be used to serve ads on your site, which should also be disclosed in your privacy policy in the following manner:

Notify your site visitors of the third-party vendors and ad networks serving ads on your site.
Provide links to the appropriate vendor and ad network websites.
Inform your users that they may visit those websites to opt out of the use of cookies for personalized advertising (if the vendor or ad network offers this capability). Alternatively, you can direct users to opt out of some third-party vendors’ uses of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
Because publisher sites and laws across countries vary, we're unable to suggest specific privacy policy language. However, you may wish to review resources such as the Network Advertising Initiative for guidance on drafting a privacy policy. For additional details regarding cookie consent notices, please refer to cookiechoices.org."

We would recommend looking at this page all about the ways in which Google sites collect and use data. If this bothers you we might recommend using an ad blocker, selecting a "do not track" option in your browser settings or you could use a browser extension like Tunnel Bear Blocker or Duck Duck Go to stop tracking. Pretty well all websites with ads on them use cookies to personalize the ads you see.

Another thing to know about in terms of privacy is the social media buttons we have on the sidebar of Wanderlust Vegans. We have an Instagram, Twitter and Youtube follow button so be aware of the privacy policies of those social media sites and the fact that if you follow us then we will be aware of it. We will receive a notification saying you followed us on our social media account. We aren't going to stalk you and collect private information from you but these social media sites have their own privacy policies you should make yourselves familiar with if you are concerned about what data they collect from you.

Lastly, some of the links on Wanderlust Vegans are affiliate links (through Commission Junction, which we signed up for through Expedia, and Amazon Associates) meaning that we may receive compensation if you click a link and make a purchase. Check out CJ's their privacy policy here and check out Amazon Associates privacy policy here. This helps us keep the blog going and hopefully pays for our domain name. Affiliate links won't add an extra cost to anything you may or may not choose to buy. Just be aware that they are tracking the click of the link and purchase in order to be able to possibly compensate us if you make a purchase.

Thanks for reviewing our privacy policy/disclosure.
