Best Memories of Twenty Eighteen

The end of the year is often a busy time between working, visiting family, the Christmas season, shopping, cooking, and did I mention working? There is a lot going on and so when new years finally comes around it can be a bit difficult to remember all the other great stuff that happened throughout the year.

At the end of the year, we like to look back at our best memories and remind ourselves about all the positive experiences we have had and what we have to be grateful for.

Here's our story for 2018:

January: We learned that Las Vegas is surprisingly vegan-friendly thanks to blogger Vegans, Baby and we booked a last minute trip there to try out some of the vegan options in Sin City. We even made a handy vegan guide to Las Vegas!

FebruaryWe got a lot of blogging done and spent some time with family. We had a great meal at Sukkho Thai. We also starting planning for our summer holidays.

MarchWe got to try the much talked about Beyond Meat burger that reached Canada, at Coach and Horses. It also made a grand entrance at A&W, but we are reluctant to try it from there. At first, the Beyond Meat tasted too similar for our liking, but once you have it a few times it seems less real. You can watch us taking our first bites at

AprilWe got to pet sit and tried out a new Vegan Cafe in Duncan. The cafe is called Cafe la Vie. We also had the chance to interview a bunch of different vegan travellers for our blog which was a lot of fun.

MayWe travelled to the UK and got to see some of our friends there again. Our friend and his parents were nice enough to host us while we were over there. We finally made it to Hay-On-Wye to do some book shopping. At the end of the month, we started our cruise to Iceland.

JuneWe went on a scenic cruise to Iceland and saw some of the natural wonders of Norway, Scotland and Iceland. We travelled to Yorkshire to visit with some friends and we also got to dog sit for our friend which was fun. We got to take her dogs on nice walks every day. They are nice dogs. It's a lot of fun walking a rottweiler and a staffy.

JulyWe travelled to London to see The Book of Mormon and eat at some new vegan restaurants. We also finally made it to Northern Wales to check out some places near Mt Snowdon such as Porthmadog and Portmeirion.

August: We finally made it to Paris which was so much fun and we had a blast exploring the city. We ate a lot of delicious food at the Coventry Vegan Festival, the Stourbridge Vegan fair and on a quick visit to Oxford on our way to Gatwick airport for our flight back to Canada. It was hard to say goodbye to all our friends in the UK.

September: We headed back to Canada after a 3.5month holiday in Europe. We got out in nature visiting a cabin in the beautiful Port Renfrew. We also get on the water and did some whale watching in Victoria BC.

October: We had a good Thanksgiving with lots of vegan food including a roasted cauliflower. We came up with some decent last minute Halloween costumes for a Halloween party.

November: We pretty much spent the whole month doing nothing but working. We are both working at the same place and enjoying doing something a bit different by working in the hospitality industry. We are gaining some new skills doing jobs we never thought we'd ever do. Cooking and serving. Except for the one who usually cooks is serving and the one with all the customer service experience is baking in a huge kitchen.

December: We went to Victoria and did some Christmas shopping along with checking out a new vegan cafe. We spent the holiday season with our family and friends. We made a bunch of delicious vegan goodies to go with our dinners.

Thank you to everyone for your amazing support over the year. We've had a lot of fun making this blog and it has pushed us to get out there and do fun stuff.
