30 Day Walking Challenge

For our first challenge of the year, we did "Take at Least a 30-Minute Walk Everyday"

1. Aim for longer than 30 minutes.
2. Walk at a reasonable pace.
3. Drink a glass of water after every walk.
4. No Technology, the point of being outside is to enjoy outside.

We are happy that we pulled a walking challenge for our first challenge.

Day One: It was a great day for a walk. The sun was shining, everyone was out walking their dogs and we just felt great about the new year. We ended up going on a 48-minute walk and we were excited to walk the next day.

Day Two: We downloaded an app to track our walks (I know we said no technology, but for the app we start the walk and place it in our pocket. We do not touch it again until we get home.) and we were feeling good until we opened the front door and realized it was pouring rain outside. It was also very windy. Luckily we have one umbrella and were able to fit both of us under it. We knew that we would end up walking in the rai…

Easy Meal Ideas: Breakfast Smoothie

We started off this series with our go-to Oatmeal recipe. For some people, oatmeal doesn't have a home in their lifestyle. So for today's recipe, we give you another one of our favourite money saving breakfast smoothies. Maybe smoothies have a better chance at making it into your life? Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so don't miss it!

Here is our simple and easy breakfast smoothie recipe:

2 bananas
1/2 cup frozen berries
1 tbsp ground flax seeds
1 cup plant-based milk (we prefer soy) add more as required
a handful of spinach (optional)

If you are adding a handful of spinach put it in first. Next put the bananas and frozen berries in the blender. Then add the plant-based milk. Then add the ground flax seeds. This is our preferred order to avoid ground flax stuck to the sides and to make sure the spinach is well mixed.

Once the ingredients are all in it's time to blend until the smoothie is smooth. ;) All done. This is enough for 2 people to have a tall …

10 Reasons to LOVE The United Kingdom

We've travelled to the UK 3 different times and we're likely to go back in the future. We really like it there. If you've never been there before it may come as a surprise that people in the UK seem to do nothing but complain about the UK. Sure, every place has its problems, but here are a few of the reasons why we like visiting the UK.

1. They have a YMS visa so you can do a working holiday.
We took advantage of the 2-year working holiday and got to experience what it is like to live and work in the United Kingdom. We were able to meet the locals, pay our bills and still have time to check out other parts of Europe. We have written a couple other articles on the YMS visa and moving abroad so check 'em out! Working on a Youth Mobility Scheme Visa and 5 Things To Know When Moving Abroad

2. They have lots of castles and historic buildings.
We love the historic buildings in the UK such as castles, cathedrals and pubs. We think it's cool that you can…

Previously we wrote a post called VEGAN DELIGHTS OF BIRMINGHAM. We spent 2 years living there and got to know a lot of places to get vegan food. Birmingham is part of the West Midlands and there was a number of places we went to that didn't fit into a Birmingham post so we added them here. This shows that it isn't just London with all the vegan options. There are tons of places to eat in the West Midlands too.
Here are some picks categorized by vegan friendliness. :)
100% Vegan:

Be The Change: This all-vegan cafe in Worcester has lots of vegan comfort food. We've been there a few times and we'd recommend the dirty wedges and the desserts. We would recommend their sharing pizzas pictures below but we didn't see them listed on their menu online so they may or may not be available.

As One Vegan Lifestyle and Greens Vegan Catering: This is a good place for some inexpensive and vegan fast food in Stourport. They have Fry's vegan burgers, Fry's hotdogs, they have m…

5 Helpful Guides and Tips:

1. This is our most popular blog post of all time. We think it has so many views because people are looking for help in planning their own road trips around Scotland. The Northcoast 500 road trip in Scotland is very popular as a bucket list trip. Here have a look at our post on Scotland: 9 Day Itinerary for Road Tripping Around …

Best Memories of Twenty Eighteen

The end of the year is often a busy time between working, visiting family, the Christmas season, shopping, cooking, and did I mention working? There is a lot going on and so when new years finally comes around it can be a bit difficult to remember all the other great stuff that happened throughout the year.

At the end of the year, we like to look back at our best memories and remind ourselves about all the positive experiences we have had and what we have to be grateful for.

Here's our story for 2018:

January: We learned that Las Vegas is surprisingly vegan-friendly thanks to blogger Vegans, Baby and we booked a last minute trip there to try out some of the vegan options in Sin City. We even made a handy vegan guide to Las Vegas!

February: We got a lot of blogging done and spent some time with family. We had a great meal at Sukkho Thai. We also starting planning for our summer holidays.

March: We got to try the much talked about Beyond Meat burger that reached Canada, at Coach and Ho…

New Years Resolution!

Happy New Year!

As we love ourselves a good 30-day challenge, for our New Years Resolution will be to do a 30-day challenge every month for the whole year! At the end of each challenge, we will bring the idea behind them forward into the next month. By the end of December, we should have 12 new healthy habits in our lives.

We put them into a hat and are drawing at random each month. Our plan is to write a blog/video post about each challenge at the end to keep ourselves motivated to complete it. We have a mixture of easy challenges and hard challenges in hopes to keep us going.

Join along with us!

Here are the challenges we have come up with to do:
