Shoreditch: Graffiti, Food and Vegan Gang
Travel Diary
Day 2:
We met up with some friends at the Aldgate East tube station and then walked up Brick Lane. On the way we found a lot of street art that was well done. We went down an alley and found a bunch of art all in one place. Lots of people were taking pictures.
The art looked nice but the ground was pretty sketchy.
It's amazing what people can do with spray paint on the side of a brick wall.
We were impressed with the art as a lot of it was on another level to the usual stuff you see.
We stopped in Mooshies London Vegan Burger Bar where we tried their Filley-om-Phish burger which was made out of battered aubergine or eggplant. It was amazing. We would recommend that everyone go to Mooshies at once.
We also got cheezy sweet potato fries with our burger.
There was street art all over Brick Lane.
And there was crazy stuff all over the walls. There was a lots of people walking around and a lot of them sounded like tourists from all over.
We stopped by Vida Bakery for delicious vegan cup cakes and coffee. We were doing a tour of all the best vegan food in the area. Our friend was taking us to all her favourite places. We had to get the salted caramel cup cake.
We made our way over to Boxpark to check out the vegan meetup and get food at Cookdaily.
We had seen this spiky dude on instagram but never in person so we were excited to have found him. We had to get a picture.
The vegan meetup was really busy and so was Boxpark in general. Boxpark is a shopping centre/restaurant hub built with metal storage containers. We got the coco loco bowl with rice noodles and it was delicious.
The owner of Vida Bakery came to the meetup and was giving out free mini cupcakes so we got more cupcakes. They were all amazing. We felt spoiled.
We caught this white tiger lurking in the dark.
After the meet up a group of us went to Yorica for vegan ice cream. We had a great time there talking about blogging, youtubing and vegan stuff. We talked about all sorts of stuff really.
It was an excellent night full of great food and lots of laughs. It was a great way to spend one of our final nights out in London and to say farewell to the UK.
Have you ever been to Shoreditch or Boxpark? What do you think of street art? What is your favourite part of London?
Why aren't you guys 500 pounds each?? LOL...You sure do find some lovely vegan food to dine on! Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteWell for starters we walk everywhere! That probably helps!
DeleteAmazing graffiti! It is like a graffiti paradise with so many surreal artworks. The spiky dude, is that a pig or a hedgehog? lol
ReplyDeleteLike the white tiger, it seems very alive.
I think he is a hedgehog! I have seen him posted in other blogs and street art threads. I was hoping to find him on our adventure in London.
DeleteHello! I really enjoy your blog, and have nominated you for a blog award! You can read about it here: https://thepittstops.wordpress.com/2017/04/07/blogger-recognition-award/
ReplyDeleteOh thank you!
DeleteBox park sure looks lovely. Moreover, with so much to savor, who wouldn't want to visit such a place!! Also, loved the magic on the bricks!! Magnificent!!
ReplyDeleteIt is such a great place to visit. We loved every minute.
DeleteWe find the street art very interesting, it holds so many colors and stories in it. Looks like Shoreditch is full of amazing street art all along the street. The coco loco bowl sounds delicious and the salted caramel cupcake yummy.
ReplyDeleteAll of the food was amazing. Shoreditch is a really cool place. We highly recommend it if you find yourself in London.
DeleteThat is a lot of amazing Wall art. I am a little confused as to which one is my favorite. Lovely captures
ReplyDeleteYes it is hard to pick a favourite. They are all so unique.
DeleteI love Shoreditch, it is my favorite neighborhood of London. I will be in London for a conference at the end of April and I definitely plan to go and take a stroll in this hippie place. I would definitely check out some of the places you have recommended, that burger actually sounds really delicious even if it's vegan.
ReplyDeleteWell we hope you have a lovely time in London! Go to Mooshies for sure!
DeleteWhat a great post, I haven't visited Shoreditch in such a long time but if I do I will be sure to check out the spots you have mentioned, the burgers look tasty!

The burger was the best part! Definitely go to Mooshies.
DeleteI love street art and Shoreditch street arts look quite fascinating indeed! Also, that burger looks incredibly delicious!
ReplyDeleteOh, we dream about the burgers at Mooshies. Wish I had one in my hand now.
DeleteAll that grafitti reminds me place in Zagreb called Medika. But you wont find there vegan food but tecno club. But it is special there.
ReplyDeleteCool. I'm not sure if we saw Medika or not when we went to Zagreb. We saw the art park though. We did find vegan food in Zagreb. There's a sandwich place called Bonita that makes vegan sandwiches and a baked potato place too.
DeleteI am not vegan, but I have to admit the food looked so yummy. It always amazes me to see how talented graffiti artists are. Very colorful and creative.
ReplyDeleteWe are always amazed at some of the art we see around town. Just amazing.
