Stratford Upon Avon Boat Trip
When the sun starts shining, we just had to get out on the water. We got a few of us together from the Birmingham Vegans and took a day trip to Stratford-Upon-Avon for a bit of rowing. We have a beautiful day, and we wouldn't change a thing!
For a fun outing we decided to rent row boats with a couple of friends. It was wanderlustvegans, plantbasednurse and 12yearsavegan rowing on the Avon.
Check out our vlog here:
We drove there. Plantbasednurse was nice enough to drive us all. We rented through a company called Avon Boating Ltd.
Rowing a boat is more difficult than we expected. We've kayaked, canoed but never rowed a boat. We were all over the place and getting in other people's way.
There was a massive queue for renting boats so luckily we booked ahead of time. We booked an hour which was a reasonable amount of time. There were lots of Swans and music was playing near the Shakespeare theatre.
It was such a beautiful day so that meant that it was busy in Stratford. The weather in England is so miserable the majority of the time that the moment the weather is nice people are immediately outside at a park or at Stratford Upon Avon to take advantage. As they should be.
There was Canada geese and regular geese everywhere.
Thank you for reading. If you enjoyed this post and want to see more of Stratford-Upon-Avon, check out our post on "Evesham Vegan Festival and Stratford-upon-Avon"
Beautiful pictures. Loved the post.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI would love this so much! I wouldn't know how to row either.
ReplyDeleteHa, rowing is hard.
DeleteIt looks so idyllic to be out on a lake or river in a rowboat, but I never thought about the fact I would HAVE TO ROW IT, lol. Thanks for the giggle, I think I might have to pass unless there are rowing volunteers in my group! xoxo Robin
ReplyDeleteThank you for reading! It was a fun day.
DeleteLooks like a great way to take advantage of some good weather! And a fun way to spend the day with friends as well!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it was the perfect day.
DeleteSee going with a few freinds and site seeing on a boat sounds fun, but doing all the rowing alone would get so tiring.
ReplyDeleteYeah it was definitely better with friends.
DeleteThis would be so much fun! Yes, rowing does take a lot of work! I borrow a co-workers kayak every now and then to take my kids out to a local bay / inlet area. I rotate them through and needless to say, I am sore the next day! Best thing we row past is garbage though; far cry from swans, geese and Canadian geese. Rowing, kayaking, it's all a lot of work.
ReplyDeleteWe like to kayak too. We like just getting on the water.
DeleteThat looks like so much fun! (I'd probably be all over the place trying to row a boat, too!)
ReplyDeletelol. that is part of the experience.
DeleteAw what a nice outing this would be! I'd imagine this would be a lovely spot to propose.
ReplyDeleteIt was perfect.
DeleteI enjoy your video on rowing and I think kayaking with friends will be a lot of fun too. I will definitely see "Evesham Vegan Festival and Stratford-upon-Avon" and wanted to have more of your post.
ReplyDeleteThanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed our post.
DeleteThis is seriously so pretty. I am so jealous! Anything on the water is always incredible!

DeleteWhat a lovely way to explore the place! I've never tried rowing my own boat before. That sounds a little tiring but also worth it if the view is lovely just like this!
ReplyDeleteIt was a lot of fun. My arms hurt a lot in the morning!
DeleteRowing a boat can definitely be a difficult task! It looks like you enjoyed a beautiful view along the way though!
