Two Week Summary.
If you missed last month's post, find it here: "The New Neighbourhood."
We know we have been absent for a few weeks on the blog. We have been job hunting and trying to settle into our lives here in England. We have not done a lot of exploring, but here is an update. We had internet installed on April 20th. It took about 2 weeks to get internet set up. They mailed us a router, then it took another 4 days to for them to flip the switch. Since we got the internet we have been booking an amazing trip for the summer... stay tuned.

The Orange kitty who visits us. |
We started applying for jobs. Everything we seem to be applying for is through recruitment agencies. We've had meetings with the agency and have let them know what we are looking for. Hopefully something turns up for both of us soon. We found a vegetarian bakery "Veggie Bite" that serves mostly vegan pastries and baked goods and for really cheap. We've been there twice now. (Update: Turns out they were lying about their food being vegan. It cause a controversy and I think it is closed now)
We registered with a medical clinic. It was fairly easy, We just needed to fill out an application and show them our passports and visas. We also needed to live in their neighbourhood to be able to go there. Prescriptions here are also a flat rate of 8.20 pounds each.
We went for a walk into Birmingham City Centre so we could go shopping. I got a pair of boots for £10 at Primark. We passed a canal on the way. We spent the day in Birmingham exploring the Bull Ring. We got free coffee. and then when it started to rain we walked back home.
A few days later we went for a trip to IKEA. I've never been before, so I was a little excited. We got a chair for the living room, couch pillows, USB outlet and a nightlight (Our bedroom is ridiculously dark at night.)
We continued job hunting and settling in. Relaxing on Saturday night with a game of Risk with our flat mates.
Yesterday we went for a walk down Harborne walkway, to see what lurks in trails near by.
To see what we are up to next month, find it here: "Vegan PIZZA"
I hope you enjoy your time in England. I don't live in Birmingham but I go to university there so I hope it's living up to your expectations!
