Living it up in the City.. of Birmingham.
This morning we were planning on filling out paper work to get our national insurance numbers to start applying for work. We didn`t hear Royal Mail come to the door (turns out our door bell doesn`t work) so we can`t get our paper work until tomorrow. We needed to sign for it.
Since our plans changed our flat mate and ourselves decided to make a trip into Birmingham city centre. The bus dropped us off at the library. After getting proof of address we were able to sign up for cards. The library was amazing. It was nine floors, and their goal is to be the best library in the world.

After getting proof of address we were able to sign up for cards. The library was amazing. It was nine floors, and their goal is to be the best library in the world.
First we had to walk further into city centre to get our proof of address from the bank.
All the buildings looked so amazing to us since the everything was so branch new to us.
We walked past the war memorial and then down stairs to the town hall and the Museum and Art Gallery.
Victoria square is pretty grand looking and so far we were very impressed with our new home. Our bank was located close to the square so we got our proof of address before heading back to the library.
All three of us checked out books then after hours of being at the library we headed to Waterstones (a big chain bookstore). Our flat mate bought a board game (221b Baker Street-The Sherlock Holmes master detective game) to satisfy our entertainment needs at home.
I searched for somewhere to eat on Happycow.net and found a place called “Cherry Reds Café”. They had tons of vegan options on their menu. We both ordered the hearty vegan breakfast for £6 and a drink. Our meals were fantastic; they hit the spot! Our flat mate ordered the falafel burger which he said was good as well. We got a vegan carrot cake for dessert for £2.50 and it was the best carrot cake I`ve ever had.
After lunch we continued to walk around, we walked through the huge mall called the Bull Ring, which lead us to a beautiful cathedral.
Our feet were getting tired though so we just went to the stores we wanted to go to then headed back to the bus stop to go home. The bus came within minutes and we were back before we knew it!

DeleteBirmingham is such a cool and lovely city. We've never visited and feel like we've been missing out. Libraries have been sort of dying out in today's digital age. It awesome that they have such an inspiring one.

DeleteTrips like this is what I love doing the most. I love to visit museums and libraries. I just hope that we have like this in our country. The library is grand and well maintained considering the age of it.

Yes you can learn a lot about a place in a museum. I find I remember more too, than just reading a book about it.
