Gloucester (Gloss - Ter) Sights
We got off the bus and walked through the city centre, heading towards Gloucester Cathedral.
Gloucester Cathedral |
We walked down the street and saw this other church. It was not as impressive. ;)
We wandered around town looking at all the cool old buildings. We were amused and fascinated by how old everything is since in Canada everything is really new by comparison.
GreyFriers street. Reminded me of my Scotland trip. |
We went down to the Gloucester Docks. There were signs explaining the historical significance of stuff all around town. The docks appeared to be redone.
Then we saw a guy walking a pony. I thought it was a dog at first. Everyone around us was doing a double take. We should have got closer for pictures.
We went to Portivo Lounge for lunch because we found online that they had a separate vegan menu. Lounges is a huge chain and they have many locations in England. The Canadian equivalent to Lounges is probably Brown's Social House. This was another restaurant that we thought was a stand alone restaurant and then turned out to be a huge chain. Franchise restaurants in the UK are surprisingly vegan friendly.

Inside the Gloucester City Museum the was an original Roman wall on display. Very cool!
How'd you like it if your skeleton was on display in a museum hundreds of years in the future?
The main reason we went to the museum was to see the "Cut it Out" street art exhibit. Mostly of the art looked a lot like Banksy stuff. Check out Banksy or Exit Through the Gift Shop to see Banksy stuff and you'll know what I mean. Left the museum and headed to the high street shopping area and walked around.
We went to the grocery store. Bought vegan cheese, soy yogurt, chocolate shakes, orange juice, tea, mushrooms and hummus. - £10.95
