Gloucester (Gloss - Ter) Sights

Today we woke up early (11am, lol), and took the bus into Gloucester city centre. We paid £3.50 for a day bus pass. The bus stop was right near our hotel. It was a nice day out, but it was windy.
The ride into town was about 20 minutes. It was a double-decker bus just like back in Victoria. Victoria only has them because they are trying to be British for the tourists.

Stonehenge Drive By

We woke up bright and early this morning and packed the rest of our bags. It was day light savings at 2am last night, so we lost an hour of sleep before heading out on our journey for the day. We packed up the car and we were on the road by 11am. We left Bournemouth and headed north.

Burgers, Bowling, Bournemouth.

By now we had pretty much seen all there was to see in Ferndown. Bournemouth is close by so we went there for the day to do some shopping and have some fun.

Take a Hike... Through the Countryside.

When you move to another country there are a lot of different things that need taking care of to get yourself established. Today we ran errands, so this evening we decided to go for a stroll around the Ferndown neighbourhood.

Welcome to the New Forest.

March 25, 2015:

Today we went to the New Forest which is a national park and tourist attraction. Driving through the forest there were wild ponies on the side of the road. We stopped in Burley where the village had a witch theme.

Three Night Stay in Bournemouth.

March 22-25, 2015:
On March 22, we headed to a hotel in Bournemouth for a 3 night stay with an ocean view.

Since we were on a tight budget, we searched high and low for a budget place to stay. We were told that Travelodge was a clean, budget hotel. We booked it on their website and it was really easy.  Check in was very easy, but if you show up before their standard check in time then you have to pay a fee.
Luckily our friends drove us to the hotel so we didn't have to look into public transportation. Although if you were to use public transportation the website is here: - This link will help you get to Bournemouth, by air, car, train, coach or ferry.

Fun on the Coast

March 21, 2015:

We started our day off with a drive of Dorset - We took the Sandbanks chain ferry in Poole over to Swanage and drove to Durlston Country Park. Our friends came up with ideas for sights to see around Dorset since we were staying with them before we all moved up to Birmingham.

And We're Off!

March 19 & 20, 2015

To save money on our flight, we booked it ourselves on Expedia. If you go to Google Flights you can search your destination and it will generate suggestions on days that it's cheaper to fly. We picked March 19th, which was 19 days after we were allowed to move to the UK, simply because it was nearly half the price.

We had a great flight direct from Vancouver to London-Gatwick through Air Transat. We abandoned our plan of sleeping the entire flight once we discovered all of the free movies offered. We watched Horrible Bosses 2, Hunger Games: Mocking Jay Part 1 and Gone Girl. After the movies we had a nap and then soon enough we landed in Gatwick Airport. The airport was small and we went through customs fast. Our friends picked us up and we began to regret not sleeping as we struggled to stay awake while talking to our friends in the car.
