Secondly we would like to thank TravelTorgeir for our second nomination. Have a wanderlust for Japan? Read this blog! I am now really itching to get to Japan after reading some of his posts and you will too. We hope to make the invite list for a crazy night in Tokyo!

Here are our questions from TravelTorgeir:

Why did you start travel blogging in the first place?
We were feeling a sense of adventure. We wanted to explore the world. We decided that we would tour around either Australia or England for one month. That was our goal as of August 2014. We started researching to see which place would be better to start with. We had friends in Canada that were there on working visas and headed back to England. One of them suggested that we had to come visit them. Jokingly someone suggested we get working visas and move in with them. Haha, we all laughed and carried on playing the board game Betrayal at House on the Hill. We then began to toy with the idea of moving abroad. It would fill the void and our need to travel we thought... Before we knew it we were applying for a working visa in England and starting this blog to keep our family updated on our travels. We kept thinking that we didn't want to go home and have to show everyone a two year slideshow of all our travels. As the time abroad carried on, we really enjoyed writing our blog. We enjoyed sharing our stories and giving tips on travelling as vegans. Now it is an amazing hobby and we really love writing our blog.

Which country would you most like to visit at the moment? And why?
At the moment we are trying to see more of Canada. Neither of us have explore enough of this beautiful country.

Are there any places you do not want to return to ever again? If so, why?
Varadero, Cuba. We had a disastrous vacation which you can read about here:  Disastrously Positive Cuban Vacation

How do you plan your travels? Do you look up and book everything before you go, or mostly wing it after having arrived?
we prebook a lot of our accommodations. We do not book or really plan anything else in advance though.

Do you have any specific travel goals each year?
We have flexible travel goals.

Do you have any travel apps you could not do without? Which ones? And why?
Google Maps, Happy Cow, Google Translate

Do you work on your travel blog while on the road, or like me, do all the work when you get home?
Mostly just at 'home' but it really depends on the type of trip.

What is your best advice to an aspiring travel blogger?
Write about what you love in your travels. Be willing to accept advice, but trust your own judgement on how you want your content.

What is the one travel experience that really stands out? Do you have one or are there several?
Going surfing while we were in Mexico.

What is the worst food you have had while travelling?
Once place in London we went to was highly recommended. It was buffet style by weight, and we learned very quickly that it was extremely overpriced. We could only afford one plate. It was enough to share and we left hungry and disappointed. The food was also very bland and cold. We will not be going back there..

What is the best part about being a travel blogger?
We just like that we are making a 'scrapbook' of our memories. By writing about our experiences right away, we get to keep more of our memories to look back on. Also, by writing a travel blog we need content. This motivates us to keep travelling to create more stories to be told.

Thank you again for the nomination. We had fun answering your questions.

England, to say good-bye to all our friends.

We got in a car accident in Cuba.

Running into a girl I knew from highschool half way across the world.

  1. Good answers! Was nice to read a little more about you. I can totally relate that editing the old posts is sometimes difficult and takes a lot of time and the Cuba story is crazy! I'm glad nothing really bad happened and you are alright :)
