Happy World Vegan Month

If you missed last month's update, find it here: "Eighth Month of the Roman Calendar"

Happy World Vegan Day! We celebrated World Vegan Day by joining the Birmingham Vegans for the monthly pizza night. The pizza was delicious as always.

November is World vegan month, starting on November 1st with world vegan day. The reason it is Nov 1st, is because that is the day that the vegan society was formed 72 years ago. This year is the 22nd world vegan month.

The prices for our flight back to Canada kept going up in price, so we just had to book a flight already.  It is a really weird feeling booking a one way flight half way across the world. Our booking doesn't include any checked luggage, so we will have to start downsizing our stuff again to keep costs down.

Only one of us was able to get our upcoming holidays booked off, So the other had to say farewell to her colleagues. (I had a little farewell lunch at Wetherspoons with some of my colleagues.)

Sweet potato, chickpea & spinach curry
We finished planning our epic trip around Germany, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia.

We knew we could not leave England without having done a backpacking trip. So we planned a two week trip through Central Europe.

Our flight from London was at 7am, so we had to catch the last train for Birmingham the night before and set up camp at the airport for 6 hours. (This sucks - if you can avoid sleeping in an airport, do it)

We arrived in our first destination:  Salzburg, Austria
We headed to Munich, Germany next to enjoy a few days.
Continued on our journey to Innsbruck, Austria.
On to Bad Hofgastein next!
We also made stops in Ljubljana, Slovenia...
And Zagreb. It was such an amazing journey and we are so happy that everything came together so perfect.

Tortilla
We got back to Birmingham and went to Tortilla for dinner in New street station. It hit the spot.

We headed back to work. I managed to get my job back on a temporary basis. This worked out perfectly for our upcoming adventure.

For the last weekend of November, we met up with some friends (Plantbased Nurse and Deadpan Vegan) and we went to WrapChic for some lunch. Their vegan burritos are delicious. Afterwards we tried to do a little shopping, but the shopping centre's are crazy! I did manage to get a new pair of trousers. Our friend also got a few pairs for work as well.

One evening after work we also managed to go to the ballet and see the Nutcracker. It was a fantastic evening. They were all amazing dancers. This was a lovely way to bring in December.

We spent our free time putting together our various blog posts and planning our December trip! We are super excited for this trip.
Another amazing month living in England complete. Bring on the last 3 months.
