Trashing the Place.

What happens when you smell gas in your flat? You call the emergency line! They came to our house within 15 minutes of calling! The guy pulled back the rug in our living room and smelled gas too, and checked the gas line and we had a 2mb drop. By law he had to turn off our gas. He wasn't there to fix the problem, he was just there to make the area safe for us to continue to live here. He also gave us a free heater so we wouldn't be cold at night. The heater was fantastic for heating one room.

The next day the manager of the maintenance team for our letting agency and a guy from a gas company came to check out the problem. They checked the boiler, no leak. They checked the cooker and there was a leak. They fixed that leak but we still had a 1/2mb drop. This meant that there was another leak in the pipes under the house. Trying to find a leak in the pipes is impossible so they would have to pull out the old pipes and put in all new ones.

Our flat mate had left for the weekend... This is what he came home too... I wonder what he's learned from this? Never leave the Canadians unattended. They destroy your house.

This is the main entrance to place. The people who live above us also use this entrance.

They were unable to complete the job in one day and had to come back the next day.

Tower Bridge.
And how do you make good of a terrible situation? How do you stay warm and entertained when you have no heat, no cooker, no internet, not TV and no hot water? You kick back with a couple drinks, lock yourselves in one room with the mini heater and build puzzles, play board games and cards.
The bridge is perfect for holding drinks!
The next day they came back and completed the pipes! We now have a 0mp drop! Yay! our gas was turned back on and we can finally have heat, and a hot shower.

    1. At least we didn't own the house. We didn't have to pay for it.

  3. Yikes.. I guess it's better to put up with the discomfort for a day rather than having an unlucky spark ruining all of your days. Hope they fixed the problem.

    1. Yeah well special thanks to our house mate because he was the one buying the board games and the puzzles. We didn't really have any money to spend at the time. I don't think he'd be willing to part with Sonic. ;)
